The Annual Seminar for Heads of Diplomatic Missions and Consular Offices of the Republic of Belarus has started at the Academy of Public Administration | en
The educational and practical week was opened on July 28 by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov and the Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus Igor Buzovsky.
Before the opening, speaking to journalists, the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reminded that this seminar is a traditional format for working with heads of foreign missions:
— We are represented in a very large number of countries. It is important for diplomats, who actually work abroad for years without returning to their homeland, to be in the rhythm of our events. It is very important to gather them and work out all the issues related to their work abroad in person with the heads of ministries, departments, major enterprises, banks, and industry leaders. First of all, this concerns the development of trade and economic relations, political contacts, and the provision of humanitarian and cultural ties.
The seminar program includes a wide range of events aimed at strengthening the coordination of foreign policy and foreign economic activities of foreign missions, as well as discussing current challenges and tasks facing the diplomatic service of Belarus in modern conditions.
Particular attention within the framework of the seminar is paid to issues of digital transformation of foreign policy work, including the use of artificial intelligence technologies in international relations and communications.
The week's program also includes practical lectures, working meetings with representatives of ministries, departments and business circles, and participation in a round table on issues of coordinating export activities and attracting investment.
An important format is the open exchange of ideas, in which new initiatives, approaches and proposals aimed at further improving the efficiency of foreign institutions are discussed.
