The Institute of Public Service hosted the grand opening of the internship program "The Union State: Development Priorities", which is being implemented by the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus in collaboration with the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
Over the course of the week, more than 70 representatives of the Federal Human Resources Reserve in the State Civil Service of the Russian Federation from 20 regions will learn from the best practices of the Republic of Belarus in public administration at the national and regional levels in order to further effectively cooperate within the Union State.
Denis Duk, Rector of the Academy of Public Administration, welcomed the participants: "This internship is possible thanks to our long-standing cooperation with the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. The cooperation between our countries within the framework of the Union State is comprehensive and allows for the development of integration processes, including through the unification of the educational system. The mutually beneficial, purposeful, and active cooperation between partner higher education institutions contributes to the improvement of educational activities, the exchange of intellectual resources, the strengthening of intercultural and business ties between professionals and young people, and ultimately, the formation of a common labor market."
The opening ceremony was also attended by Anatoly Markevich, Head of the Permanent Committee of the Union State in Minsk, Andrey Malakhov, First Secretary and Science and Education Attaché at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus, and Alexey Kolesnikov, Vice-Rector of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
After the opening ceremony, business meetings were held on the topics "Main Directions of State Policy in the Republic of Belarus" and "Professional Development of the State Civil Service". Valentina Shvayko, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at the Presidential Academy, shared her insights on the professional development of state civil servants. She explained the principles of education at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus and the projects that have been implemented to respond promptly to the challenges and issues posed by the President of the Republic of Belarus.
Additionally, she discussed features of education for reserve management personnel.
Internship participants will visit key domestic enterprises and learn about innovative projects in various industries.
This is the first time that the Presidential Academies of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation have implemented a joint educational program at this level.
