Head of the Department – Лосева Ирина Ивановна, PhD (Pedagogics), Associate Professor

The Department of Organization and Methods of Physical Training was established on September 9, 1993 in accordance with the decision of the Administration and the Council of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus. The main task of the Department was to organize physical training classes with students of the Faculty of Management and students of the Academic Training Department of the Academy. The first Head of the Department who was appointed and performed his duties on a voluntary basis was Head of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Ryzhenkov.

The Department's sporting facilities include a complex of open planar sports, a training and rehabilitation block with gyms for aerobics and athleticism, a hydro-recovery room and a diagnostic center, tennis courts, volleyball and basketball courts, a mini-football and handball field with a spectator tribune for 90 seats.

Department Tasks and Main Directions of Activities

The tasks of the Department of Physical Training include 

● scientific and methodological support and organization of teaching the discipline "Physical culture" for full-time 1-3 year students of the Institute of Managerial Personnel of all specialities;

● scientific and methodological support and organization of teaching the discipline "Professional health and physical culture of the leader" for students of the Institute of Civil Service, speciality "State construction";

● scientific and methodological support and organization of teaching the discipline "Health-saving technologies in management" for students of the correspondence form of studies of the Institute of Managerial Personnel of all specialties;

● lecturing and organizing thematic discussions on the topics of training programs for for students of the Institute of Civil Service;

● conducting scientific research on the problems of health preservation of management personnel, the formation of a healthy lifestyle among students, the use of physical culture to preserve health and ensure the professional longevity of managers;

● organization and conducting of sports and sports and recreational activities for students, trainees and employees of the Academy of Public Administration;

● organization of monitoring of the functional state, physical fitness and health status of students and listeners in the process of training at the Academy of Public Administration.

Students of the Academy of Public Administration regularly take part in various competitions on the internal and external circuits. The teachers of the Department prepare students of national teams for the Republican Universiade. On the basis of the Department, one can deeply engage in such sports as swimming, volleyball, football, athleticism and powerlifting, sports aerobics and cheerleading.

The Department is actively implementing the idea of "sports diplomacy". The international volleyball tournament for the Cup of the Academy of Public Administration among the teams of diplomatic missions accredited in the Republic of Belarus is a traditional event.

Scientific Activities

The Department of Physical Training conducts scientific research on the problems of optimization of teaching physical culture, theoretical and methodological foundations for the development of forms and methods of health promotion, increasing the level of physical condition for the heads of government bodies.

The Department conducts research work in accordance with the plan for research and innovation activities of the Academy of Public Administration in the direction "Theory and Practice of Public Administration, Reforming, Economics and Continuous Professional Training of Leading Personnel." The staff of the Department take an active part in the implementation of the R&D Plan of the Department.

The Department annually holds the Republican scientific and practical conference (with international participation) “Management in the field of physical culture and sports: pedagogical, economic, legal, social and medico-biological aspects”.

As part of the implementation of the Agreement on Scientific Cooperation dated 05.11.2011, the Department conducts joint research work with the Department of Anthropology and Ecology of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The staff of the Department of Physical Training have published over 200 teaching aids, articles, and abstracts of speeches at scientific conferences.

The high level of professional activity of the Department's specialists is confirmed by the encouragements of the rector of the Academy of Management of the Republic of Belarus, certificates and gratitude from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus, the Republican Center for Physical Education of Youth, letters of thanks from external organizations.
