The Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law (before 2007 – the Department of Constitutional Law and State Building, then until 2012 – the Department of Public Administration and Law, and the Department of International and Comparative Law) was established in 1996, and at different times was headed by the outstanding representatives of the legal profession.
Department Tasks and Main Directions of Activity
The Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law carries out educational, methodological and research work at the Institute of Management Personnel, on the levels of graduate, postgraduate and doctoral education.
The Department prepares graduates for specialist's degree in speciality 1-26 01 02 "Public administration and law", participates in preparing postgraduate students pursuing master's degree in specialties 12.00.02 “Constitutional law; constitutional process; municipal law”; 12.00.14 “Administrative law; administrative and tort law; administrative process”; 12.00.10 “International law; European law”.

The faculty of the Department is represented by renowned scientists, leading experts in the field of constitutional law, constitutional law of foreign countries, administrative law, theory of state and law, financial law, and customs law.

Scientific Activities
The Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law conducts research within the framework of the unified scientific direction "Theory and Practice of Public Administration, Economic Reform and Continuous Professional Training of Leading Personnel" for 2020–2024 on the research theme "Ensuring the mechanism of legal protection of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus in the context of transformation processes."
The staff of the Department are involved in the implementation of research work of the State Pedagogical Research Institute and the BRFFR on a reimbursable basis.
The Department supervises students' research work. Students' scientific club "Aequitas" unites those interested in conducting scientific research within the scope of disciplines of the Department. The works of the members of the scientific club are annually presented at the Republican competition of scientific works of students, the competition of scientific works of the Institute of Managerial Personnel, international and republican scientific and scientific-practical conferences. Students are active participants of the Science Week dedicated to the Constitution Day of the Republic of Belarus, and the public speaking competition "Cicero".
Institutional Cooperation
In order to provide a practice-oriented educational process and approbation of the results of scientific activity, the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law cooperates with various state bodies and organizations of the Republic of Belarus.
On the basis of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus, the Central Commission of the Republic of Belarus on Elections and the Conduct of Republican Referendums, field classes are systematically conducted within the framework of the discipline "Constitutional Law".
On the basis of the National Center for Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus, there is an innovative platform of the Department, where field classes are held.
The Department is actively engaged in vocational guidance work and cooperates with educational institutions throughout the country.
