The Department of Organizational Economics was originally created as the Department of Economics and Organization of Production in 1991. Later the Department was transformed into the Department of Business Economics and Environmental Management (2001 – 2004), the Department of the State Regulation of the Economy (2004 – 2007), and the Department of Business Economics.
Department Tasks and Main Directions of Activity
The Department of Organizational Economics sees its mission in building professional competencies of future specialists for effective management of a competitive organization.
The Department of Organizational Economics carries out its activities to
● ensure the proper quality of the educational services provided, improve the content, forms and methods of teaching;
● build up-to-date knowledge base in the field of economics;
● improve teaching methods and optimization of the use of modern teaching aids in the educational process;
● participate in educational and ideological work with students;
● implement the Quality Assurance Policy at the Academy of Public Administration;
● increase the competitiveness of the Academy of Public Administration in the international scientific and educational space, the international online ranking of Webometrics universities and among Belarusian HEIs.
The Department ensures the implementation of educational programs of the first level (cycle I) of higher education in specialities 1–26 01 03 Public administration and economics, 1–26 01 02 Public administration and law, 1-26 03 01 Information resource management. The second level includes specialities 1–26 80 07 Public administration and economics, 1-26 80 09 Public administration, 1-26 80 08 Public administration and law, 1-26 80 04 Management.
The Department trains highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel in specialty 08.00.05 Economics and management of the national economy (by industry and spheres of activity).

Scientific Activities
The Department of Organizational Economics conducts research in the following directions:
● economic sustainability of organizations and its provision;
● fiscal regulation of the economy;
● business planning of the organization;
● economics and management of nature use and environmental protection;
● state regulation of innovative activities;
● national and regional economy;
● investment design;
● economics of innovation.
Scientific school of the Department of Organizational Economics has been formed on the basis of processes taking place at the enterprise level for over 30 years. The head of the scientific school of the Department was Doctor of Economics, Professor Sergey Pelikh (1946-2020).
Over the past 10 years, the staff of the Department have published more than 720 scientific, scientific and methodological, educational, and educational and methodological works. Most of the lecturers of the department had internships abroad.
Highlights of the scientific activities of the Department include
● Round table "Strategy for the development of marketing activities of modern export-oriented organizations of the Republic of Belarus" on the basis of JSC ``Minsk Tractor Plant' ' (jointly with the Department of Economic Systems Management and the Department of State Economic Policy).
● Publication of a special edition of the collection of scientific articles "Scientific Aspirations", comprising scientific articles of the graduates (2019-2020).
● Round table "Development of professional competencies of management personnel: a look into the future" jointly with the State Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining of Personnel of Customs Authorities of the Republic of Belarus.
● Round table "Modern mechanisms for promoting entrepreneurship development at the regional level" jointly with UNDP and the Business Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers named after Professor M.S. Kunyavsky.
● Scientific and practical seminar "State regulation of the economy in the context of digital transformation".
● Round table "Vivat, Academy" with alumni - leading managers of the country specializing in "Public Administration and Economics" in the framework of the 30th anniversary of the Academy of Public Administration.
