The Department of Social Policy and Ideology was created on September 2, 2019 on the basis of the Department of Philosophical Sciences and Ideological Work and the Department of Public Administration of Social Sphere and the Belarusian Studies. The Department provides training specialists in "Public Administration and Ideology" and "Public Administration of Social Sphere" at the Institute of Civil Service. The Department also provides training to graduate, post-graduate and doctoral students in the sociological and political sciences.
The Department of Social Policy and Ideology carries out instruction in 32 disciplines, including Ideology of the Belarusian State, History and Ideology of the Belarusian Statehood, Political Parties and Modern Electoral Techniques, Fundamentals of the Social State and Social Policy, Contemporary Managerial Techniques in the Spheres of Health Care, Culture, and Education, Sociology of Management, Contemporary Social Processes, Fundraising in the Social Sphere, and others.
Department Tasks and Main Directions of Activities
The academic disciplines assigned to the Department of Social Policy and Ideology are aimed at developing students' knowledge in the field of theoretical and methodological bases of the social state and social policy, the ideology of the Belarusian state and ideological work, the formation of the scientific worldview, fostering patriotism and moral qualities of the individual.
The mission of the Department is to develop students' professional competencies for effective management of the social, spiritual and ideological spheres of the society. The Department aims to carry out educational and scientific-methodical work in the assigned academic disciplines; conduct scientific research in the issues of the social, spiritual and ideological sphere of life of the society; train the research and teaching professionals, improving their qualifications.
The academic staff of the Department widely use innovative educational techniques in the academic process, including distance learning methods, situational modeling, case studies, business games, and the Internet resources. Individual work with the student is particularly focused on.

Scientific Activities
The research work of the Department of Social Policy and Ideology is carried out within the framework of the State Public Scientific Research Institute themes “Society and Humanitarian Security of the Belarusian State” for 2021-2025, “Spiritual Culture as the Basis for Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Security of the Belarusian Society” on the topic “Improving political argumentation in the education system of the Republic of Belarus as a factor in consolidating security ".
The Department of Social Policy and Ideology also conducts research within the scientific direction of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus "Theory and practice of public administration, economic reform and continuous professional training of executive personnel" on the topic "Actual problems of social policy and ideology in the Republic of Belarus" for 2021-2025.
The Department organises the research work of graduate students, doctoral students and applicants in political and sociological sciences.
The staff of the Department actively cooperates with national and local government bodies. The Department of Social Policy and Ideology carries out training, retraining and advanced training of specialists in the field of social policy and ideology and conducts active career guidance work for the government bodies at all levels.
The Department cooperates with leading research centers and higher educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus, such as
• “The Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus” State Scientific Institution;
• "The Belarusian State Economic University" EE;
• “The Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics” EE ;
• "The Republican Institute of Higher Education" State Educational Institution, etc.
On the basis of the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, there is an innovative platform for the Department of Social Policy and Ideology, which performs certain functions of a department branch.
The staff of the department cooperates with a number of international organizations, research centers and universities, including St. Petersburg State University (St. Petersburg, Russia), Moscow State University (Moscow, Russia), the Baltic Federal University named after I. Kant (Kaliningrad, Russia).
