HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT
By the decision of the Council of the Academy on July 24, 1997, the Department of Management Psychology was established, since September 2, 2019, the Department has been functioning as the Department of Personnel Policy and Management Psychology. The activities of the Department are carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus, the Charter of the Academy of Management, The Regulation on the Institute of Civil Service, the Regulation on the Department and is aimed at training highly qualified specialists in the field of human resource management. The department is a graduating department in the following specialties of retraining: 9-09-0414-09 State Personnel Policy; 9-09-0414-07 Personnel Management.
THE MAIN TASKS AND AREAS OF WORK OF THE DEPARTMENT:
scientific and methodological support and organization of teaching of academic disciplines within the framework of the department’s profile for students undergoing retraining and advanced training at the Academy of Management;
conducting scientific research in the field of personnel policy and management psychology;
training of postgraduate students and applicants in the following specialties: “Developmental Psychology and Acmeology”, “Occupational Psychology, Engineering Psychology and Ergonomics”;
conducting tests and interviews to determine the professional and personal competencies of employees; drawing up psychological portraits of candidates for positions in government agencies and other organizations;
development and distribution of practical recommendations to government agencies and organizations within the framework of the departmental theme “Psychological support for the professional health of a manager as a condition for effective management activity”;
organization and holding of the annual International Scientific and Practical Conference “Theory and Practice of Personnel Policy and Psychological Support for Management Personnel”;
organizing and conducting scientific and practical seminars, round tables with students and teaching staff on current topics (“Our land is proud of them”, “The role of the family in the formation of patriotic value orientations”, “Restitution of cultural values of Belarus as an aspect of state foreign policy”, "Psychological aspects of consolidation of society", "Psychological conditions for the formation of civil identity in the conditions of an aggressive information environment";
professional selection of candidates and conducting classes within the framework of the Minsk Shift project;
individual consultations for students on psychological issues.
The mission of the department – is to train highly professional, competitive specialists for the implementation of personnel policy in government agencies and other organizations, possessing the necessary competencies to solve current management problems.

The department employs 10 full-time teachers and 4 part-time workers, including 2 doctors of science and 10 candidates of science.
