Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus is the state’s leading research centre in the sphere of public administration. The Academy carries out fundamental and applied research on pending matters of the country’s social and economic development, tackles issues of information-oriented community, ideology building, effective personnel policies, philosophical and sociological aspects of public administration, legislative background for the public administration system reform and considers other important aspects of modern society’s development.

Profound resources of “brain capital” are currently at the Academy’s disposal. 168 Sc. Drs and PhDs work full-time at the institution. Annually dozens of research articles, monographs and study manuals are written and published by Academy’s scientists.

The institution research and teaching staff also devote large attention to mentoring research work of students and young scientists. Student Research Society and Young Scientists’ Council have been created and successfully function at the Academy.

The following postgraduate thesis evaluation councils work in the framework of the institution:

• Council for approving PhD degree in Economics;
• Council for approving PhD degree in Politics.

The Academy traditionally hosts a number of large scientific events:

• International Research Methodological Conference “Healthy Lifestyle as the Basis for Professional and Creative Longevity” (biannually);
• International Research Practical Conference “State Regulation of Economics and Efficiency Enhancement of Economic Entities” (annually since 2004);
• International Research Practical Conference “Information Resources Management” (annually since 2003);
• Republican Research Practical Conference of Young Scientists, Undergraduate and PhD Students “Theory, Methodology and Practice of Public Administration”.

Collected articles “Academy’s Research Volumes” and a scientific practical journal “Problemy Upravlenija” (“Issues of Public Administration”) are published at the institution’s premises. Both editions are in the national shortlist of publications on major research outcomes.
