The training courses aimed at helping teachers embrace a new educational technology of teaching in-service students distantly, as in the coming 2010-2011 school year a new major “State Building” will be launched at the Academy.
The courses highlighted the following main topical issues of distance learning: requirements to study materials for display at the Academy’s e-learning system; technology of information layout in the system; basic tools of the e-learning system which can be used for conducting distant classes with in-service students; technology of creating and compiling tests.
Besides that, during case-studies teachers got to know how to implement in the process of distance education such ways of learning as practical tasks, team projects, tests, on-line discussions, message exchange via in-built e-mail, etc.
The training session rounded off with a discussion and opinion exchange on such issues as activity planning in education, choosing adequate ways for implementing e-techniques in distance learning.
The Centre for Educational Technologies provided methodological materials on creation of a study course for distance learning. The Institute of Civil Service was also presented with a CD with recorded video-lectures of prominent teachers from Belarus and the CIS countries on the issues of teaching technologies for organising e-learning.
In future it is planned to hold a range of field courses for teachers on elaboration of high-quality interactive e-manuals and case-studies on the experience of conducting distance study courses at different universities of the CIS countries.
