On May 18th the Academy hosted a seminar on corporate social responsibility (CSR) held by an associate professor of St Petersburg Higher Business School, director of the CSR Centre Mr. Yuri Blagov. The event was organised by the Academy together with the UN Initiative in Belarus “The Global Compact”.
Vice-Rector on Academic Affairs Mr. Ihar Hancharonak, project coordinator in economics and social development of the UN Development Programme Ms. Lyudmila Istomina, representatives from Belarus’ higher educational establishments and other institutions took part in the seminar.
In his greeting word Mr. Hancharonak marked out the event’s relevance and in general the importance of the CSR course’s implementation as a great role in its realisation belongs to the system of education. Educational establishments while implementing the principles of corporate social responsibility become later on disseminators of the mentioned concept among students enhancing alongside the quality of education what is of no small importance in training students including future executives.
During the seminar a wide spectrum of questions in particular such as methodology of teaching corporate social responsibility and its interconnection with other disciplines was discussed. Practical classes and training sessions with in-service students also took place in the framework of the seminar.
