General Information on the Faculty of Pre-University Education

The Faculty of Pre-University Education is an academic faculty of the Institute of Public and Business Administration of the Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus.

Current Activities of the Faculty of Pre-University Education

  • Task-oriented vocational guidance in Minsk and the regions of the Republic of Belarus
  • Informative and organizational support of the academic process at the Academy of Public Administration
  • Image making of academic education
  • Access courses for school-leavers and all applicants
  • Organization of work activities on the basis of current and new innovative teaching methods for Pre-University Education
  • Organization of methodological activities directed towards advance training
  • Organization of profession-oriented and psychological interview of the applicants
  • Organization of methodological activities for national testing at the Academy of Public Administration

Task-Oriented Vocational Guidance of the Faculty of Pre-University Education

  • Organization of ‘Open Days’ at the Academy of Public Administration
  • Assisting with any questions about the admission process at the Academy of Public Administration
  • Organization of theme meetings for parents
  • Individual advice on the questions of the academic process regulations at the Academy of Public Administration
  • Participation in the international exhibitions dedicated to the higher institutions in the Republic of Belarus
  • A ‘hot line’ call centre for citizens
  • Access courses for applicants organized in the framework of the National Curriculum in the Republic of Belarus

Main Objectives of the Faculty of Pre-University Education

  • Filling in the gap in the knowledge of the applicants to meet the entrance examination requirements
  • Arranging obtained competences for entrance examinations
  • Extending and  broadening school-leavers’ knowledge
  • Improving the quality of education  of  future students of the Academy of Public Administration

The academic process is provided by highly qualified and experienced academic staff who analyze the previous years’ tests and use different teaching-aid materials.

The tuition of the Access coursesof the Faculty of Pre-University Education depends on the terms and forms of training.

Applicants are admitted on the basis of a written application, an identity document (passport, residence permit, refugee certificate, etc.) and a written agreement. Applicants under the age of 18 are registered in the presence of a parent or a guardian.

The official admission of the attendees is carried out by the Rector’s written order and the attendee’s written agreement.

The course duration varies from 3 weeks to 9 months. A group makes up to 6, 9 or 12 people. In some cases the group can be split into subgroups or several groups can be formed up into streams. 

The teaching process starts after a full enrolment. Classes are held on week days and on Saturdays. The attendees get a certificate after completing the access course. When they have equal marks after passing the entrance examinations, they have the privilege over those, who didn’t attend the course.

The Academy invites school-leavers, college-leavers and others to the Faculty of Pre-University Education.

The Academy of Public Administration is one of the official representatives of the educational institution ‘Republican Institute for Knowledge Control (RIKС)’ to give practice tests in all disciplines (no certificate is granted).

During a practice test applicants can

  • familiarize themselves  with the test subject areas;
  • check their level of the competences acquired at school;
  • outline the most efficient ways of  learning a discipline;
  • fill in the gap in the knowledge to meet the entrance examination requirements;
  • acquire technical experience in filling in the answer-sheets of national testing;
  • adapt psychologically to the forthcoming tests;
  • decide on a higher educational institution for future career prospects.

There are 3 stages for practice testing in the Faculty of Pre-University Education:

  • October-December
  • January-February
  • March-April

Practice tests are set on the basis of the testing administered by the ‘Republican Institute for Knowledge Control’ (RIKС). Answer-sheets processing, scaling and scoring procedures are carried out by means of IT.
