General Information on the Department of Civil and Economic Law

The Department of Civil and Economic Law is a structural subdivision of the Faculty of Administration and Management of the Institute of Public and Business Administration. It provides teaching activities in the fields of ‘Public Administration and Law’, ‘Public Administration and Economics’, ‘Information Resources Management’ and qualifies its graduates in the specialization 1-26 01 02  ‘Public Administration and Law’.

The Department of Civil and Economic Law provides educational, methodological and scientific research in the faculties of the Institute of Public and Business Administration, the Institute of Civil Service, as well as for Master's and postgraduate courses.

The Department of Civil and Economic Law graduates in master courses in the specialization 1-24 80 01 ‘Law’ and 1-26 81 08 ‘Legal Regulation of Public Administration in social and Economic Systems’.

Academic Staff of the Department of Civil and Economic Law

The assigned subjects are taught by the head of the Department of Civil and Economic Law, 13 associate professors, 8 senior lecturers and 5 lecturers.

Scientific Work of the Department of Civil and Economic Law

"Improvement and harmonization of the legislation of the Republic of Belarus in the context of integration processes in the field of civil and labor relations" is the theme of the scientific work carried out in the Department of Civil and Economic Law.

The main areas of the Department’s research are:

  • Legal Regulation of the Real Estate Market;
  • Inheritance Law;
  • Securities;
  • Corporate Law;
  • Civil and Economic Procedure;
  • Family Law;
  • Employment Law;
  • Intellectual Property.

The Department of Civil and Economic Law lecturers publish their scientific and research works in leading national and international journals and collected papers; they also publish teaching aids and training manuals.

The Department of Civil and Economic Law supervises research work of students of the Institute of Public and Business Administration in the following areas: Civil Law and Legal Procedure, Economic Law and Legal Process, Legal Regulation of Labour and Social Relations, Land and Ecological Law.
Under the supervision of the staff of the Department of Civil and Economic Law, students do research and prepare research works for national and the Academy’s contests as well as for national and international scientific conferences. As part of the educational process, teachers of the Department of Civil and Economic Law hold round-table discussions on the most controversial topics in the field of employment law, civil law and litigation.

The teachers of the Department of Civil and Economic Law (Yu. Amialchenia, T. Punko, A. Rautskaya, А. Kasyanchik, N. Saliankina and others) are actively involved in preparing students’ teams to participate in Law Olympiads and contests.

Under the supervision of the staff of the Department of Civil and Economic Law, students of the Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus have achieved good results in scientific research.

On the initiative of the academic staff of the Department of Civil and Economic Law and the second-fifth-year students of the Institute of Public and Business Administration who major in ‘Public Administration and Law’, the students' scientific club ‘Civilist’ has been created. The scientific club operates in the following areas: civil law, civil and procedural law, family law, housing law, employment law, and legal regulation of economic activity.

The ‘Civilist’ society members annually take an active part in team and individual contests of Law Olympiads held on the basis of the Law Faculty of the Belarusian State University, Kupala Grodno State University as well as in interuniversity and international conferences. Among the achievements of the students, there are more than 150 presentations at different conferences, more than 20 letters of appreciations and certificates.
