During the academic year 2010–2011, 4 candidates for a master’s degree and 2 post-graduate students were trained. In 2011, 7 candidates for a master’s degree and 3 postgraduates were enrolled in the Department.

Innovative Forms of Covering Academic Material in Class in the Department of Mathematical Methods in Management and Economics

Recently there have been elaborated educational illustrating complexes that can be used both in the academic process and just as consulting systems for analyzing a number of typical problem situations in the sphere of management. The complexes are based on the simultaneous use of both the procedure of expert evaluating and technologies of simulation modelling.

During the academic year 2009-2010, three educational illustrating complexes have been introduced in the academic process both for the speciality ‘Public Information Resources Management’ of the Institute of Civil Service and the speciality ‘Information Resources Management’ of the Institute of Public and Business Administration: ‘The Choice of Policy for the Economic Activity of an Enterprise (a Field)’, ‘Formulation of an Investment Portfolio’, ‘Solving Multi-Criterion Managerial Tasks in Terms of Risks.

Scientific Work of the Department of Mathematical Methods in Management and Economics

  • Formulation, elaboration and implementation of mathematical methods of decision-making in economics and management
  • Management of educational and information resources for training and further training of managerial personnel including inter alia the technologies elaborated by the Educational Centre for Simulation Modelling
  • Swot analysis, full-scale modelling, expert modelling, analytical and simulation modelling, predictive modelling

Within the framework of the consistent scientific approach of the Academy of Public Administration ‘Theory and Practice of Public Administration, Reforming of Economy and Sustained Professional Training of Managerial Personnel’, since the beginning of 2011 the Department has been doing research on the issue ‘Elaboration of Mathematical and Simulation Models of Functioning of Economic Systems’ (to be completed by the end of 2015).

International Scientific Conference ‘Information Resources Management’ is annually held at the Academy of Public Administration in cooperation with the Department of Information Resources Management.
