The Faculty of Innovation and Technology Management of the Institute of Public and Business Administration was established in compliance with the Charter of the Academy of Public Administration approved by Decree No. 275 (2 June 2009) of the President of the Republic of Belarus ‘On Certain Measures for Training, Retraining and In-Service Training of Administrative Personnel’.
The basic objective of the Faculty is to train a new generation of administrators, modern managers, capable of generating new ideas, developing and implementing innovative projects and optimizing administration, using intelligent information technologies.
The basic direction of the Faculty activity in the short run is to train innovatively-active personnel who know information resources management technology, and in the long run – to train personnel for the innovation activity in the sphere of administration.
The training centre of the situation modelling is an innovative means of solving multifunctional objectives in student training. The centre is a part of the computer network of the Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus, and it has access to public information resources and other outer networks.

The Faculty provides the training of primary higher education specialists in the speciality ‘Information Resources Management’ (full-time and correspondence learning), qualification – a manager-economist of information systems.
The uniqueness of training in this speciality is based on providing integrate knowledge in the spheres of management, economics, information resources, systems and technologies. In fact, the formula of the speciality is the following:
Information Resources Management = Management + Economics + Information Resources, Systems and Technologies
The uniqueness of the speciality also implies the increasing use of new innovative-educational and information–communication technologies.

At present the Faculty of Innovation and Technology Management trains 568 students (414 -full-time learning, 154 – correspondence learning) and 116 Masters (19 – full-time learning, 97 – correspondence learning). Students are provided with education at the expense of the republican budget or on the terms of payment.
Scientific work of the academic staff of the Faculty of Innovation and Technology Management and students’ scientific research are carried out within the framework of the Scientific Research and Innovative Activity Plan of the Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus in the field of ‘Theory and Practice of Public Administration, Improvement in the Economy and Sustainable Professional Training of Managerial Personnel for 2006-2010’.

International scientific-practical conferences ‘Information Resources Management’ are annually held.
Being members of scientific groups and students’ scientific societies, the students of the Faculty of Innovation and Technology Management carry out research tutored by the academic staff. The students’ research is supervised by the Students’ Research Council of the Faculty in cooperation with the Young Researchers’ Council of the Academy of Public Administration and the Students’ Scientific Society.
